Our Women of Millennium Network (WOMN) Mentoring and Networking Circles provide women with an organic group of mentors across different stages of their professional careers. Read below for reflections from a few of our circle leaders and participants.
What is one lesson you’ve learned as a mentor?
Danielle Schaefer, Associate General Counsel: I’ve learned that all encounters and relationships are opportunities for growth. Our WOMN Mentoring Circles have been a great reminder that no matter where someone is in their career, they have something to teach you.
What values or principles do you consider most important in mentorship?
Elizabeth Rhoades, Senior HR Business Partner: While it’s great to develop relationships within your own team, true growth and understanding often comes from interactions outside your day-to-day norm. Mentorship opportunities outside of your bubble help you gain unique perspectives and ways of thinking.
What’s one thing you didn’t expect to gain from mentorship?
Fiona Hou, Data Scientist: I didn’t expect to gain a genuine friendship with my mentor. Beyond professional advice, we’ve built a rapport that makes our interactions enjoyable and enriching.
