Dan Berkovitz is Vice Chairman, External and Regulatory Affairs, and a member of the Firm’s Compliance, Legal & Ethics Oversight Committee (CLEO).
Prior to joining Millennium in 2024, Dan served as General Counsel of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and, prior to that, as Commissioner of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). He was also previously a Partner and Co-Chair of the Futures and Derivatives practice at WilmerHale, General Counsel at the CFTC, and was a senior staff lawyer for the U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations and the Deputy Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Environmental Management. Dan is currently a Lecturer at Columbia Law School, and has previously served as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown Law School and Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association Committee on Futures and Derivatives.
Dan received an AB in Physics from Princeton University and a JD from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, formerly known as Hastings College of the Law.
